Typically the door(s) will start to stay locked or unlocked or play up sometimes they will sometimes they wont, the interior light staying on being a sign the door(s) is/are not locked. VCDS should bring up fault code so as suggested find someone nearby with the map.
Yeah not sure what the other person is talking about, the only time the doors can't be opened from the inside is if you lock it with the remote key, or, activate the child locks from the door. I'd suggest manually locking the doors with your key. Open your rear doors and turn the lock switch. Then have a look through your settings menu for
Thanks Julesandtash, you guided me to the exact same problem with my 2002 l and k octavia. The red/yellow wire did not have 12V at the door window motor module (the plug was hard to get off until I realised there was a locking slider on it, pull the bottom part of the plug to the right!)and when I unpicked the loom at the door hinge I found the break in the red/yellow wire.
With my original problem, we ended up having to take it to the local Skoda main dealer, who proposed replacing the control units for both the front and rear LHS doors. In the event, they only needed to change the N/S/F door control unit the code for which was S1T0959702SZ0L, priced at £266, so with labour & VAT it was £760 :( . Hope that helps!

HI - I have just bought an octy tdi 1.9 90bhp, But it has two 'interesting' faults: 1) the auto realase on the fuel cap does not work. I have removed the unit, tested both the supply voltage on the connector and the unit itself. When the button in the dash is pressed there is 11.65 volts deliverd
